Latest Review of Rodger Harding's Book

Corporate Intelligence Awareness  is both alluring and provocative. It will make executives painfully aware of the inadequacies of their organization's current approach to information gathering/knowledge management and will convince them to make critical changes to the way disparate information is collected and synthesized into meaningful and actionable intelligence. It's a 'must read' for executives and those involved in strategy development.

Latest Book Review

A recent review from Midwest Book Reviews
Former South African government career diplomat Rodger Harding, who earned the Star of South Africa for his work in intelligence and strategy development, presents Corporate Intelligence Awareness, a no-nonsense guide for business managers to gathering, developing, analyzing and protecting confidential information. Real-life examples and anecdotes illustrate Harding's tested tips, tricks, and techniques for improving one's people-reading skills, maintaining strict ethics and absolute adherence to the law while keeping close tabs on one's business interests, and how to ensure that ever-changing competitive intelligence can be skillfully delivered to the right people at the right time in the chain of command. An excellent and invaluable manager's supplementary resource especially in the increasingly information-dependent twenty-first century.

Official Publication Launch

It gives me great pleasure to announce that my new book, "Corporate Intelligence Awareness: Securing the Competitive Edge" (ISBN 1895186420, $43.95 hardcover) was launched on 1 November 2006 and is available from most online and traditional book retailers. Updated: 03 November 2006

The book provides a comprehensive step-by-step guide to the often forgotten, yet highly cost effective, role individuals play in gathering & safeguarding critical business intelligence. I have given special attention to the business advantage of linking people intelligence to planning, strategy development and knowledge management in ever changing business environments. The Intelligence-Project concepts in the book evolved over a 4–year period from Corporate Intelligence consulting in the IT, Industrial, Financial, Broadcast/Media & Government arenas.

In the run up to publication the book has attracted considerable attention, resulting in several television interviews that have interestingly focused on internal & external corporate espionage. Safeguarding what walks out the door is becoming an increasing corporate priority. My book emphasizes people awareness as a better alternative to zero tolerance type regulations and expensive technology. Please explore the website for more information.

Special thanks go to those clients who initially engaged our services in this field. My motivation to write the book stemmed from seeing the direct relevance of the material in the operational area. Thanks also to Kevin Aguanno of Multi-Media Publications (www.mmpubs.com) for seeing the potential of this material.

Book Review
Corporate Intelligence Awareness: Securing the Competitive Edge
Rodger Nevill Harding
Multi-Media Publications, Inc. (2006)
ISBN 1895186420
Reviewed by William E. Cooper for Reader Views (9/06)

Corporate intelligence, or business information, is an absolutely essential commodity in today’s rapid and evolving management and organizational strategies and operations. A particular organization’s information/intelligence provides its competitive advantage; its ability to ethically collect and assess information about the competition enhances that advantage.
Mr. Harding has produced a book, “Corporate Intelligence Awareness,” that is a must-have for managers and executives.  He begins the book with a discussion about what intelligence is, how it works, and the best opportunities for its use.  He also provides the reader with sound and comprehensive methodologies for protecting it from the all-too-frequent people who seek it.
As the former Chief of Police of a municipal police department, one of my responsibilities was protecting considerable amounts of personal and private information. While we had success the vast majority of time, our task would have been substantially easier by having had an education similar to what Mr. Harding provides here.
It has often been said that knowledge is power. In reality, applied knowledge is the real power. Apply what you learn in “Corporate Intelligence Awareness” and you will have a distinct advantage in your business.
